Cancellation & Refund Policies
At Chile Adventure Guides, we believe in fair play. Our goal is to provide travelers with flexibility while protecting the livelihoods and advanced planning of our local guides and agencies.
Please Note: The following are the recommended policy frameworks for the guides and agencies on our platform. However, because some expeditions require significant upfront logistics (such as mountain permits or remote 4x4 transport), each guide may set their own specific policy. > Always check the "Cancellation Policy" section on the specific tour page before booking.
1. Soft Policy
Designed for maximum traveler flexibility (standard day tours).
100% Refund: Cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice before the tour’s start time.
No Refund: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or "no-shows," are non-refundable.
2. Moderate Policy
A balance between traveler flexibility and guide protection.
100% Refund: Cancel with at least 7 days’ notice before the tour’s start time.
50% Refund: Cancel between 7 days and 24 hours before the tour’s start time.
No Refund: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or "no-shows," are non-refundable.
3. Strict Policy
Designed for expeditions requiring significant advanced planning and resources.
50% Refund: Cancel with at least 7 days’ notice before the tour’s start time.
No Refund: Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice, or "no-shows," are non-refundable.
Important Additional Clauses
Force Majeure: If a tour is impossible to conduct due to a force majeure event (e.g., National Park closures due to extreme weather, natural disasters, or government restrictions), Chile Adventure Guides will mediate to arrange a no-cost rescheduling or a 100% refund (minus transaction fees). We commit to acting in good faith in these rare situations.
Cancellation by the Guide: If a guide cancels a tour for any reason, the traveler will receive a 100% refund (minus transaction fees). of the tour cost, without exception.
Definition of "Day’s Notice": A "day" is understood as a full 24-hour period prior to the scheduled start time of the tour.
